Idugan Entertainment
Our company is based in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Our goal is to produce films, documentaries, TV shows and
music videos to promote and preserve Mongolian culture and history domestically and internationally.
We believe that it is very important to capture and preserve the remaining traces of the many ancient Mongolian traditions that have survived until now, before they get diluted into the modern world. With its vast and beautiful landscape and its low concentration of population, Mongolia is an increasingly popular destination for European and American tourists. There are also tremendous pressures from capitalism driving the country to exploit its vast natural resources, and luring an increasing number of nomads into abandoning their traditional way of life I order to experience the modern city life.
We produce original musical composition by composer Enkhtaivan Agvaantseren
incorporating traditional vocals and instruments such as
the
Mongolian Long Song (urtyn duu)
and the
"horse-head
fiddle" (morin khuur)
. A blend of traditional Asian
melodies unified with classical Western opera and modern
popular music.
We also produced several films directed by Enkhtaivan Agvaantseren, and based on original stories by Byambaa Bayarmagnai. The goal of our latest documentary project, Doctors of Nature (Baigaliin Emch), is to retrace the long history of central Asian Shamanism, and to capture and document the remaining traces of this ancient tradition.
Our upcoming feature film, The Sky Son (Tengeriin Khuu), takes place amongst the Dukha (Tsaatan)
A Pearl in the Forest (Moilkhon)
was one of the first films aimed at retracing the history of the
different ethnic groups that compose Mongolia. It was also one
of the first films to openly relate the events of the 1930’s and
the impact of the rise of Soviet communism on Mongolia. The film
was shot in the real location where the events took place, near
the
Buryat We hope that these films will present a cultural experience that will capture the interest of audiences around the world. Please visit the "news" page of our site for updates on our latest projects.
